About

We believe that a true and comprehensive understanding of Islam would not be possible without careful recognition of the Prophetic Tradition and the Prophet's Household. And Allah is the Source of Strength.

Epitome of Humility

" The Prophet (SAW) has said very clearly that any one who has a mustard seed's weight worth of arrogance in him will not enter paradise.

Yet I have seen in my professional life, a small manager of a small department of a small organization behaving like the pharoah. Yet I have seen in my personal life how a poor traffic police warden mal-treats an even poorer guy on the motorbike who is socially below him. I do not need to mention the rich, the powerful and the elite of our society and our Ummah.

The following Ayah in the Quran must cast fear in our hearts, in terms of how the Prophet (SAW) used to treat the people around him (SAW), with so much humility that Allah had to intervene and establish basic ethos where the Prophet (SAW) felt shy in doing so.

The Quran says in Surah 33 Ayah 53 QUOTE O you who believe! do not enter the houses of the Prophet unless permission is given to you for a meal, not waiting for its cooking being finished-- but when you are invited, enter, and when you have taken the food, then disperse-- not seeking to listen to talk; surely this gives the Prophet trouble, but he forbears from you, and Allah does not forbear from the truth ............ UNQUOTE

Out of His (SAW) shyness, the Prophet (SAW) did not share his sentiments with the people around him (and below him). It was His (SAW) right to do so specially when it was a manner hurtful towards the Prophet (SAW), and it was the truth, yet he (SAW) chose to remain silent about it.

The Quran promises that the Prophet (SAW) has the "most exalted standard of moral excellence". We must learn from the way of the Prophet (SAW).

He (SAW) has gifted us with a very simple way of killing our arrogance, be the first one to greet anyone and say salam, to the poorest and the weakest as well. Even when you are the president of Pakistan and meet a janitor in a hotel, or when you have fought with your wife and not on talking terms with her, or when you are CEO of a large company and you meet with a junior staff member of the organization.
